Summer - Part 1

Hello Everyone!

So yeah I have sucked at blogging lately- I'm sorry! Even this will not be a very lengthy post but I hope you will forgive me as I will be adding pictures! :o)

It is summer -finally! (mother nature thought it was still January up until last week!)

Anywhooo I have been trying to keep the boys busy on my days off! Getting out of the house on most days - we were able to go to some of the local attractions a few weeks ago- Cave of the Winds, North Pole, so I will include pictures of that.

The boys just started swimming lessons last week, & I think I will continue them for the next few weeks, its good- right at our neighborhood pool. and it gets us out of the house bright and early! which is good! I have even started getting in the pool too! We are working on Jaydens confidence level- and well Jacob doesnt seem to have any fear- so my goal for him is to swim the length of the pool by the end of summer, which I dont think will be too hard as he can nearly make it across the short way. Maybe I can get some pictures of them at the pool next week-

For the most part of summer we are hanging with friends & spending as much time outside as we can. I was even working on planting some flowers today - & our big project for the summer, if we can ever get started - is to do our back yard. *sigh*

ok so anyway - reading over this it has no flow- but oh well I am not changing it!! I hope everyone is well & enjoy the pictures!

Easter

So we had a pretty good Easter - Saturday night Jay & the boys colored eggs! Sunday we went to mom & dads had yummy food & vegged out all day & night! caught up on a lot of tv shows, & watched Marley & Me - it was so funny- but so sad! I wasnt prepared for that! anyhow, sorry I didnt get many pictures of anyone else but it was a pretty lazy day & totally snowing buckets outside! - One thing is for sure even if it doesnt snow a single day all winter, it will snow on Easter, and if not it will snow on whatever day you have an Easter egg hunt planned - I know this! it has happened for the past 8 years- trust me!!!
The only bad thing really besides our cancelled hunt (it was supposed to be outdoors at my friend Kathys house (5 acres, wooded, beautiful) (the boys did hunt & find eggs over & over at moms) but back to the bad thing - trying to get home & I locked the keys in the (running) car! It is so lame- I know, I have NEVER done that before! NEVER! my car isnt even suposed to allow it! Soooo I had to take dads car & drive all the way home, get the extra keys, & drive back! what a pain!!

good finds

So I tackled a few more boxes tonight - I was in desperate need for a visual dent in the 'one day office'-'right now box holding station' - So I got through a few, got half sorted and even have a nice path to the back!! yippie!

Anyhow I found some cookbooks, some shelving - which will come in handy! & a prized possession- my Old Singer Sewing Machine stand! IF you dont understand lemme share! My aunt had one which she made into a little kitchen island, she has a galley type kitchen, so pretty narrow. But I just thought it was the coolest thing! So anyhow, when we moved to Germany it was my goal to find one! - I found one in the first few weeks at a little german - flea market type place! So I used it as a little table/stand! I Have NO IDEA where I will put it now, but I am happy to see it!

ANYWAY, I also found a couple other treasures, a few pictures of the boys! I just gotta post -! Just incase you forgot how cute they were back then!

So I am stealing the following post from my girl Bea... I have seen it before, maybe not as funny to some, but it still makes me laugh!

You know you are a nurse when…...

1) the front of your scrubs reads “Nurses… here to
save your ass, not kiss it!”

2) you occasionally park in the space with the
“physicians only” sign… and knock it over.

3) you believe some patients are alive only because it’s
illegal to kill them.

4) you recognize that you can’t cure stupid.

5) you own at least three pens with the names of
prescription medications on them.

6) you believe there’s a special place in hell for the
inventor of the call light.

7) you believe that saying “it can’t get any worse”
causes it to get worse just to show you it can. --this is a fact!

8) you wash your hands BEFORE you go to the bathroom. --Absolutely

9) you believe that any job where you can drive to work
in your pajamas is a cool one.

10) you consider a tongue depressor an eating utensil.

11) eating microwave popcorn out of a clean bedpan is

perfectly natural. -- sorry, but no- this will never happen.

12) you’ve been exposed to so many x-rays that you
consider it a form of birth control.

13) you’ve ever heard a patient with a nose ring, a brow
ring, and twelve earrings say “I’m afraid of shots.”

14) you’ve ever placed a bet
on someone’s blood alcohol level. -- completely normal

15) you’ve told a confused patient that your name is that
of a coworker and to call if they need help.

16) your bladder can expand to the size of a winnebago’s
water tank. -- working on this.

17) you have seen more penises than any prostitute could
dream of.

18) you believe that not all patients are annoying…
some are unconscious.

19) your family and friends refuse to watch medical
sitcoms with you because you spend the whole time
correcting everyone and pointing out upside down
x-rays.

20) you don’t get excited about blood, unless it’s your
own.

21) you’ve sworn to have “do not resuscitate” tattooed on
your chest. Soon.

22) discussing dismemberment over a gourmet meal
is perfectly normal to you. --perfectly normal conversation -anytime!

23) your idea of fine dining is anywhere you can sit down
to eat.

24) your idea of a good time is a cardiac arrest at shift
change. --its like the just know its SHIFT CHANGE!

25) you believe in the aerial spraying of prozac.

26) you believe that “shallow gene pool” should be a
recognized diagnosis.

27) you believe that the government should require
permits to reproduce.

28) you believe that unspeakable evils will befall anyone
who utters the phrase “Wow, it’s really quiet, isn’t it? --this statement should be against the law!

29) you have ever wanted to write a book entitled
“Suicide: getting it right the first time.”

30) you have ever had a patient look you straight in the
eye and say “I have no idea how that got stuck in there.”

31) you’ve had to leave a patient’s room before
you begin to laugh uncontrollably.

mobile blogging?

So when I am at work there is so much going on and so much I wanna say, but then I come home I am completely exhausted. So tonight (provided I have time)(but shhh speaking those mere words almost guarantee I will have NOOO time) but provided there is a moment - I will try to do some mobile blogging!
For awhile I contemplated doing a separate blog for nursing cause there are just crazy things that happen that most people would not believe, or think is too funny! - There are some great nursing blogs out there- from ED nurses ICU etc. but I dont have time to do that right now, so if anything comes to mind I will be posting that here -

Hope everyone is doing great! I have a belly full of scampi & a PB&J for later (that does NOT even sound good in the same sentence!- ewww) but both are good individually... now I am off to work!

& oh - Happy pi Day!!

Tax Time!

So we filed our taxes today! We were eagerly waiting to do this as we qualified for the $8000 credit for new home buyers, (Go Obama!) so even though we closed on the house in 2009, we could claim on 2008 return! So that was exciting - and now since we own a house that means its time to "nickel & dime" the IRS. (these were the words of the tax prep lady - not mine) So this year all the receipts will be saved appropriately for donations, school and work expenses!

Nothing else is really new I guess (not from yesterday) but I messed more with the blog - added some pictures, a playlist, and a kewl background! yeehaa! also used photobucket, which is an awesome way to add individual pictures, or a photo slideshow! So I am sure I will be doing alot of that soon! ~~ any other suggestions out there - lemme know!

Now its time to get ready for work tonight! I so should have taken a nap today- but NO! I will be paying for that about 2-3am!

Hello!

So I have wanted to blog for awhile now.. but was unsure of how - I started a Yahoo 360 account a few years ago but I was unable to keep up after I got sick with the head pressure. Anyhow everyone assures me it is so easy so here I go---

Also, I retain the right to change the name of this page as soon as I can think of a better one!
